Saratoga Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albany Academy for Boys). They never let Schenectady get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday. The Cadets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024 (when they won 19-0).
Willie Kimbler and Ben Dalto did most of the damage at the plate: Kimbler went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Dalto went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That triple was Kimbler's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Staff, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Albany Academy for Boys' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Saratoga Springs, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Saratoga Springs has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Albany Academy for Boys struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
