On Tuesday, North Cross had to suffer through a rough 68-36 loss at the hands of the Cardinals . While losing is never fun, North Cross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Cardinals are ranked 60th).
Despite the loss, North Cross still got an impressive performance from Cate Overton, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Dajah Garrison was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for North Cross and nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Cross will challenge the Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
