Wakefield found their leader in underclassman Cael Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Valenzuela, who scored eight points.
Woodbury Central bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wakefield, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodbury Central will take on Siouxland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Iowa (Siouxland Christian is ranked 337th, while Woodbury Central is ranked 331st). As for Wakefield, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Walthill at 7:30 p.m. Walthill is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
