The Trout Lake Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 53-40 to Lyle/Wishram. That's two games in a row now that Trout Lake has lost by exactly 13 points.
Lyle/Wishram found their leader in underclassman Jack Thiemann, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Riley Smith, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Trout Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lyle/Wishram, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trout Lake will square off against Lyle at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lyle/Wishram, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Christian is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
