With a playoff win on the line, Helias rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on 19 straight.
Sophie Verslues was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 16 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Liza Boyer, who had seven digs and two aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Helias was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Vernon only served five.
Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Averee Swillum, who had 14 digs and five aces. Swillum is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.
Helias' record now sits at 36-1-1. As for Mt. Vernon, with the defeat, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 26-8-2.
