The Cardozo Judges put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Forest Hills by a score of 84-76. Given Cardozo's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Forest Hills is ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cardozo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordin Walker, who scored 27 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Walker is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brandon Barrett, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Cardozo's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-0. As for Forest Hills, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cardozo will take on Bowne at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bowne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matches -- so hopefully Cardozo likes a good challenge. As for Forest Hills, they will be playing at home against Eagle Academy III at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
