2A-2 Region II District 8 recap October 22, 2013
Clarksville scaled the state rankings by moving to 883 from 954 this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region II District 8. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Chisum 41-13.
Cooper added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Alba-Golden, 38-6. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Thanks to the talents of Jackson Tyner and Carlos Bolton, Edgewood has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Tyner is tops in the league in passing with 1,463 yards, while Bolton has rushed for 1,012 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Clarksville's Gemack Woodberry, with 582 yards on 30 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Cooper takes on second place Edgewood.
The Bulldogs' offense has racked up 343 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Cooper has allowed only 32 on the year.
Edgewood took down Como-Pickton 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
