The Chesapeake Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Glenelg Country Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chesapeake entered their tilt with Crofton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Chesapeake made off with a 44-43 win over Crofton.
Chesapeake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kasey Slade, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and five steals. Slade is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Arruda, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Glenelg Country took their matchup at home last Wednesday with ease, bagging a 68-21 victory over Chapelgate Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Glenelg Country.
Chesapeake's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Glenelg Country, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Chesapeake didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Glenelg Country in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win.
