After three games on the road, Rocky Mountain is heading back home. They will take on the Capital Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Rocky Mountain is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Capital in Idaho (Rocky Mountain is ranked seventh, while Capital is ranked 71st).
Last Tuesday, Rocky Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Borah, taking the game 37-24.
Anna Dabell was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Capital suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 49-28 defeat to Owyhee might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Capital in their matchups with Owyhee: they've now lost four in a row.
Rocky Mountain's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Capital, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-13.
Everything went Rocky Mountain's way against Capital when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Rocky Mountain made off with a 54-29 victory. With Rocky Mountain ahead 31-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
