There's no place like home for the Edwardsville Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 42-38 victory over Collinsville on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Edwardsville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Collinsville is ranked third).
Collinsville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Horras, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Zach Chambers, who scored 11 points.
Edwardsville's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Collinsville, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edwardsville will take on Belleville West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collinsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
