Todd County Central is 2-8 against Butler County since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Todd County Central's tournament run continued when they took on Collins on Saturday. The Rebels came out on top against the Titans by a score of 8-5.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Weikel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Naomi Welborn, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Todd County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Butler County let Warren East stack four runs on them in the fifth inning on Tuesday but luckily Butler County prevailed anyway. The Bears won by a run and slipped past the Raiders 6-5.
Brielle Belcher was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Karrington Hunt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Butler County has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Todd County Central, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Todd County Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Butler County struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
