The Manning Monarchs lost against the Crestwood Knights last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Manning fell 65-52 to Crestwood. It was the first time this season that Manning let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Manning still got an impressive performance from Tavion Carter, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Cooper, who scored ten points.
Manning's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Crestwood, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manning will face off against East Clarendon at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Crestwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Sumter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sumter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Crestwood is ranked second).
