Baseball Recap: Fitzgerald's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Fitzgerald had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Farber Hebrew Day 10-2 on Tuesday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Thomas Baranski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Baranski was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leiland McCallep, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dexter Garda, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Fitzgerald's win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Fitzgerald will challenge Mott at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Farber Hebrew Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
