The Coshocton Redskins will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the West Muskingum Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. Coshocton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Tornadoes like a good challenge.
Last Friday, Coshocton strolled past the Ceramics with points to spare, taking the game 68-54. Given Coshocton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Ceramics are ranked 687th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Colton Conkle, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Lonsberry, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, West Muskingum struggled with assists on Friday (the Panthers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. West Muskingum lost to the Panthers on the road by a decisive 52-34 margin.
Despite the defeat, West Muskingum had strong showings from Cade Porter, who scored eight points along with two steals, and Carter Smith, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Coshocton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for West Muskingum, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Coshocton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Tornadoes in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. Will Coshocton repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
