The Warsaw Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-50 victory over Penn. This was payback for Warsaw, who suffered a 41-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Warsaw found their leader in underclassman Brooke Zartman, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 3 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Zartman has scored at least 25% of Warsaw's points. Joslyn Bricker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 8 rebounds.
Penn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anna McCullough, who scored 14 points, and Lauren Walsh who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessa Troy, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Warsaw's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Penn, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warsaw will take on NorthWood at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penn, they will be playing at home against Carroll at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carroll is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
