Futures put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Forest Lake Christian 80-40 on the road. Given Futures' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Forest Lake Christian is ranked 1360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Futures had a senior duo take command as Keylen Garth scored 20 points along with seven assists and seven steals and Deonta Dorrough scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Garth is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Bains, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Delta played against Woodland Christian and lost via forfeit.
Futures' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Delta, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Futures against Delta in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 80-28 win. With Futures ahead 39-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
