Softball Recap: Heritage Wins Going Away Against Reese

While Heritage put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Reese. The Hawks put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kelsey Hales was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Violet Brown was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Heritage hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reese struck out 11 times.

Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Reese, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Reese beat Heritage by a score of 8-4 later that day.
