Suburban - Blue recap October 22, 2013
Winnetonka extended the longest winning streak in Suburban - Blue this week by beating Platte County, 49-33. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Griffins.
Kearney took down Grandview 63-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brock Broughton ran for 243 yards and caught 2 passes for 56 yards in the win.
Tyler Cooper threw for 281 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 27-53 with 4 interceptions.
Broughton was a beast in the backfield as the Bulldogs defeated the Bulldogs.
Paul Silvio was the best wideout in the league this week as Liberty North fell to Park Hill South. Silvio tallied 8 receptions for 97 yards. Michael Hughes helped Liberty North's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 53 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Silvio. The Liberty North star has 47 catches for 766 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Kearney and Winnetonka. Greg Jones' team enters the game ranked 16th in the state, while the Griffins ranks 25th.
Grandview made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,080 from 5,454. The improvement was largely due to a 63-7 victory over Steve Robertson's team last week.
