Xavier Yeagy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Luke Gilman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Eastbrook earned a 5-2 victory over Muncie Burris on Wednesday.
Carter Daugherty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Daugherty was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Reid Aupperle was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jacob McDermit, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Madison-Grant's record is now 16-10. As for Eastbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.
