South Bend Career Academy had to suffer through a rough 55-18 loss at the hands of Trinity. South Bend Career Academy has not had much luck with Trinity recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, South Bend Career Academy saw an underclassman step up: Adara Machowiak dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Trinity's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Gabrielse, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Peyton Hopkins, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
South Bend Career Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Trinity, the last time they lost on the road was back two weeks ago. Having now won three straight away games, they've pushed their record up to 2-6.
South Bend Career Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity, they will head out on the road to face off against South Bend Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Bend Clay comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
