After flying high against the Community of Peace Academy Tigers last Thursday, Twin Cities Academy/Great River came back down to earth. Twin Cities Academy/Great River was beaten by the Lions 63-23 on Tuesday. Twin Cities Academy/Great River has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Schaeffer Academy found their leader in underclassman Lillian Morrisey, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Linnea Ekbom, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Twin Cities Academy/Great River's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Schaeffer Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Cities Academy/Great River won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Cristo Rey Jesuit is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home. As for Schaeffer Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Spring Grove is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
