Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hutchinson

After losing to Valley Center the last time they met, Hutchinson decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the Hutchinson Salthawks' way against the Valley Center Hornets on Tuesday as the Hutchinson Salthawks made off with a 66-40 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Salthawks just coasted through the last quarter.

Despite the loss, Valley Center saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ray J Logan posted 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for Logan. Another player making a difference was Nash Jamolod, who scored six points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Hutchinson, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for Valley Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Hutchinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-37 loss against Great Bend on the 17th. As for Valley Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-55 defeat against Maize on the 17th.
