The La Vega Pirates can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They really took it to China Spring for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-27 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but La Vega sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
La Vega got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Angela Carroll out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of CeMaria Kelly, who scored ten points along with seven steals.
La Vega pushed their record up to 26-8 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.7 points. As for China Spring, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.
La Vega will head out on the road to face off against the Cadets at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Connally will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Pirates are ranked 11th). As for China Spring, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Rockets at 6:15 p.m.
