Christian Fellowship waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Columbia Independent with points to spare, taking the game 58-39. Given Christian Fellowship's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Columbia Independent is ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Fellowship was led to victory by Luke Davis and Abe Seboldt. Davis scored 20 points along with six steals, while Seboldt scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Royer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Columbia Independent lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Deolu Adibiyi, who scored 15 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Adibiyi scored 15 or more points. Blake Morris was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Christian Fellowship's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Columbia Independent, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Christian Fellowship will head out on the road to take on Lighthouse Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 64.42 points so far this season, Christian Fellowship's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Lighthouse Prep Academy better be ready for a challenge. As for Columbia Independent, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Prairie Home at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Prairie Home has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 517 points over their last seven contests.
