Wheatland-Grinnell's Connor Lewis recorded the longest rushing play in Western Kansas Liberty (8 Man) this season in his game against Triplains/Brewster last week. Lewis' team beat the Titans as he sprinted for 65 yards on the play and finished with 134 in all.
Samuel McKinney and Hayden Walker provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Golden Plains. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 69 yards.
Palco's dynamic duo of Brent Gehring and Alex Benoit proved tough for Healy/Western Plains to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gehring threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns and Benoit had 127 yards receiving. Kolt Newell helped Palco's passing attack out by catching five balls for 75 yards.
Brandan Escamilla was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 151 yards on 15 carries as Weskan fell to the Eagles. Teammate Tyler Compton added to the ground attack by rushing for 109 yards.
The Coyotes' McKinney and Walker have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Western Kansas Liberty (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. McKinney has thrown for 569 yards this season, while Walker has 14 catches for 340 yards. Andrew Luna from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 652 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Triplains/Brewster takes on Weskan. Tony Stramel's team is in eighth place, while Marc Cowles's team is in first place.
The Coyotes extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Golden Plains, 56-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
