The Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 52-24 win over Chicago Christian. Winning may never get old, but Marian Central Catholic sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Juliette Huff was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Kenyon, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Chicago Christian still got an impressive performance from Courtney Stoub, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Stoub continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Marian Central Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Chicago Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.
Marian Central Catholic will be playing at home against the Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Edward will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 60th). Chicago Christian is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Timothy Christian is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Knights a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
