The Hillside Comets suffered their biggest defeat since January 11th on Sunday. Their tough 69-47 loss to Weequahic might stick with them for a while. Hillside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-22.
Tyhir Barlow was his usual excellent self, scoring 40 points along with five steals for Weequahic. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barlow has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Riyahd Mcdonald, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Hillside has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Weequahic, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bard at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Bard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 672nd in New York, while Hillside is ranked 218th in New Jersey). As for Weequahic, they will head out on the road to square off against Golda Och Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
