Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (11), the Tigers still had to take the loss.
Tay'Sha Leudke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Natalie Asbury was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times West Fork and Huntsville have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. West Fork came out on top against Huntsville by a score of 20-15.
Clara Harderson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Harderson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, West Fork got a massive performance out of Leah Swinson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Willa Boyd, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
West Fork hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huntsville struck out 11 times.
Green Forest's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Fork, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything went Green Forest's way against West Fork when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Green Forest made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Green Forest since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
