Baseball Recap: Eunice Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Eunice came out on top against Loving on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Cardinals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Cardinals have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Eunice let Dyson Lord and Luis Zamora run wild. Lord went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Zamora went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Zamora is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Andrez Serrano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Eunice is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Loving, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eunice is set to take on their familiar foe Jal at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in the Cardinals' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Panthers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Loving will challenge rival Texico at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
