The Fort Morgan Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Niwot Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Morgan is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 20-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Fort Morgan struggled with assists on Thursday (Riverdale Ridge had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Fort Morgan took a serious blow against Riverdale Ridge, falling 92-28. While losing is never fun, Fort Morgan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Riverdale Ridge is ranked 17th).
Shaelynn Ramirez was Fort Morgan's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Bella Phillips held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Niwot's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 69-27 loss at the hands of Mountain View. Niwot was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.
Fort Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Niwot, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
Fort Morgan took a serious blow against Niwot in their previous meeting back in January, falling 67-35. Can Fort Morgan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
