Football Recap: Pennridge's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Bensalem wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pennridge, they should've done a better job of containing William Dougherty. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 win over the Fighting Owls on Thursday thanks in part to Dougherty, who rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 54 yards.

Pennridge has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 33.5 points this season. As for Bensalem, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Pennridge will be playing at home against Harry S. Truman at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Bensalem, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Abington at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
