Riverbend had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Stafford Indians a 5-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Riverbend, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Riverbend's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matchups. As for Stafford, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
