Basketball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Bethany Christian

Bethany Christian came tearing into Tuesday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 63-55 victory over the Austin Catholic Crusaders . Given Bethany Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Austin Catholic is ranked 720th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bethany Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathaniel Byers led the charge by dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Byers has scored at least a third of Bethany Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Wise, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 24 points.
