Forest Grove is 8-2 against Century since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Forest Grove Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Century Jaguars at 5:45 p.m. Hopefully Forest Grove is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Oregon (they are ranked 21st, while Century is ranked 171st).
Last Friday, Forest Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Glencoe, taking the game 59-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Forest Grove.
Meanwhile, Century's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 62-25 defeat at the hands of Liberty. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Century has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Century had strong showings from Abbie Scharringhausen, who scored two points along with 18 rebounds and four steals, and Alyssa Loza, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Olivia Phillips, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Century smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Forest Grove's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Century, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14.
Everything came up roses for Forest Grove against Century in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 78-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forest Grove since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
