Lutheran West hasn't had much luck against Cuyahoga Heights recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Longhorns will square off against the Red Wolves at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Cuyahoga Heights will be up against a hot Lutheran West team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over Brooklyn on Wednesday. That looming 20-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Longhorns yet this season.

Lutheran West got a massive performance out of Kailyn Caster, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those five hits gave Caster a new career-high. Peyton Steinbrenner was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.
Meanwhile, while Cuyahoga Heights put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Trinity. The Red Wolves blew past the Trojans 13-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Skylar Sane made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Sane was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Cuyahoga Heights let Sophia Meklemburg and Giada Presot run wild. Meklemburg went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Presot went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that Meklemburg has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Aly Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Cuyahoga Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Lutheran West's record now sits at 5-3. As for Cuyahoga Heights, their record is now 3-4.
Lutheran West couldn't quite get it done against Cuyahoga Heights in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Longhorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
