Downingtown West is 6-1 against Great Valley since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Whippets will welcome the Patriots at 3:45 p.m. Downingtown West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Last Thursday, Downingtown West came out on top against East by a score of 5-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Whippets haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Addison Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ava Kaczmarski was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Great Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Oxford 5-4 on Wednesday.
Sarah Yost was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. Yost was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Mattison, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Lily Stanton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Great Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Downingtown West, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Great Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Downingtown West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Great Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Downingtown West keep running through batters, or will the Patriots buck the trend?
Downingtown West took their victory against Great Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Whippets repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
