Having just played yesterday, the Anderson Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Muncie Central Bearcats at 2:30 p.m. on February 10th. Muncie Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Anderson, who comes in off a win.
Anderson can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Logansport 72-29 at home. Given Anderson's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Logansport is ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Damien King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with five assists and two steals. He hasn't dropped below 17 points for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Louis Jackson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Muncie Central had to settle for a 55-52 defeat against Harrison on Friday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Xaviya Cook, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lj Strange, who scored 15 points.
Anderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Muncie Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Anderson strolled past Muncie Central when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 59-44. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Muncie Central's Daniel Harris, who scored 19 points. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Anderson to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
