Basketball Recap: Lillielani Lockett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carl Hayden Community over West Point

Carl Hayden Community lost against West Point back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Carl Hayden Community Falcons received a blow as they fell 45-28 to the West Point Dragons.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lillielani Lockett, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Lockett is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marisol Alvarado, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Carl Hayden Community now has a losing record at 1-2. As for West Point, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Carl Hayden Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-16 loss against Mountain Pointe on the 5th. As for West Point, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-23 defeat against Eastmark on the 5th.
