Jenison is 1-8 against West Ottawa since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jenison Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the West Ottawa Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Jenison and three for West Ottawa.
Last Thursday, Jenison came up short against Caledonia and fell 57-44. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jenison in their matchups with Caledonia: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, West Ottawa pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-56 bruising from Grandville. While losing is never fun, West Ottawa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Grandville is ranked 24th).
Jenison bumped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for West Ottawa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Jenison lost to West Ottawa on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Jenison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
