Coweta is 3-0 against McAlester since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Coweta Tigers will head out on the road to take on the McAlester Buffaloes at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Coweta had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Will Rogers College at home to the tune of 65-38 on Friday. The victory was just what Coweta needed coming off of a 62-41 defeat in their prior matchup.
Coweta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Cooper, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coulton Pierce, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
While McAlester couldn't quite beat Sapulpa on Saturday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 40-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. McAlester fell just short of Sapulpa by a score of 60-57. McAlester has struggled against Sapulpa recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Coweta's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for McAlester, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18.
Coweta didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against McAlester in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 67-62 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coweta since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
