Jackson County moved up to 243 from 275 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAA Region 8.
North Oconee extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Franklin County, 28-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Titans.
North Oconee's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tate Adcock threw for 79 and three touchdowns and Zantravious Shields had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Nick Colvin chipped in 100 yards. Zack Sims helped North Oconee's passing attack out by catching three balls for 35 yards.
North Oconee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Colvin has thrown for 533 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Sims has 10 catches for 138 yards. Colvin also leads the league in rushing with 327 yards.
A big matchup in AAA Region 8 this week will be when the Titans take on Elbert County. North Oconee is in first place, while the Blue Devils are in fourth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Titans take on Elbert County. North Oconee has allowed 76 points this season, while Sid Fritts' team has given up 101. The Titans allowed 13 points last week as they defeated the Lions.
The Panthers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,216 from 7,356.
