Softball Recap: Antioch Has No Trouble Against Stratford

Antioch won the last time they faced Stratford and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bears were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Spartans. Considering the Bears have won ten matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Gabby Kendricks, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Avah Haynie was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Antioch has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Stratford, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Antioch will be playing in front of their home fans against Hunters Lane at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stratford, they will challenge Whites Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
