The Port Jervis Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Port Jervis will be strutting in after a victory while Liberty will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Port Jervis has not done well against Beacon recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Port Jervis skirted past Beacon 50-47. The win was a breath of fresh air for Port Jervis as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Port Jervis can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Boucher, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five steals, and Carroll Dolshun, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Boucher's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 74 points the game before, Liberty were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a serious blow against Ellenville, falling 84-24. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Ellenville: they've now lost seven in a row.
Port Jervis' victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Liberty, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Port Jervis took their win against Liberty in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 70-44. Will Port Jervis repeat their success, or does Liberty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
