Petersburg's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the East Hardy Cougars 10-1. Considering the Vikings have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Petersburg got a great performance from Olivia Kimble as she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Kimble has posted since April 3rd.
On the hitting side, Ella Chew was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Tingler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Petersburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Hardy struck out six times.
Petersburg's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for East Hardy, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
