The Fort Yukon Eagles can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Tok with a sharp 61-39 victory. Given Fort Yukon's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Tok is ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Yukon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jane Ward, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Twila Strom, who scored 18 points.
Fort Yukon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Tok, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Fort Yukon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tok, they will head out on the road to take on Susitna Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
