The Highland Trojans came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bowman Academy 44-14 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Highland has posted since November 18, 2023.
Highland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Steele out in front who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Keil, who scored 12 points.
Highland's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. As for Bowman Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will square off against Gary West Side at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gary West Side will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Highland is ranked 151st). As for Bowman Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Marquette Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marquette Catholic is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
