Basketball Recap: Intermountain Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Intermountain Christian). They managed a 77-73 victory over the Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Thunderbirds on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Intermountain Christian was led to victory by Knox Westenskow and Noah Hillaker. Westenskow went 11 for 17 on his way to 31 points and five steals, while Hillaker went 7 of 17 on his way to 28 points and four steals. The contest was Hillaker's tenth in a row with at least ten points. David Reist was another key player, putting up nine points and six assists.

Despite the loss, Utah Military Academy - Hill Field still got an impressive performance from Quinlan Ekberg, who went 14 of 17 on his way to 32 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Patino, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Intermountain Christian's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Utah Military Academy - Hill Field, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Intermountain Christian will face off against Vanguard Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Utah Military Academy - Hill Field, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-30 victory against Telos on the 8th.
