After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pender, the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They breezed by Winside on the road to the tune of 54-19. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for Tri County Northeast this season.
Rhyanne Mackling was a one-man wrecking crew for Tri County Northeast as she scored 20 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mackling has scored all season. Rylinn Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Winside saw an underclassman step up: Ellie Topp scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Winside struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Tri County Northeast racked up 13 assists.
Tri County Northeast's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Winside, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Tri County Northeast will face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Homer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Saturday. Winside's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Osmond/Randolph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Saturday.
