The Jefferson County Patriots entered their tilt with the William Blount Governors with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Jefferson County simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat William Blount 68-28 at home. Considering Jefferson County has won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Omarian Mills, who rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Mills is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Skylar Thomas, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Jefferson County's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points per game. As for William Blount, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Jefferson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. William Blount does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
