The Stuart W. Cramer Storm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-50 to Huss. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Stuart W. Cramer of the 73-53 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Stuart W. Cramer lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Jordan, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Darius Sykes, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huss to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Phillips pulled down eight or more rebounds. Satchelle Pettis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Stuart W. Cramer has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Huss, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Stuart W. Cramer will head out on the road to face off against Ashbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Huss, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forestview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
